AI-powered safety moderation
Community posts and messages are reviewed by OpenAI's API before publication. Only submission text is shared — no name, email, or account details.
Legal
Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the MindfulMe: Journal app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by MindfulMe: Journal (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Commercial service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?
The Application is designed to keep nearly all of your data on your device. The following data is stored locally only and never leaves your device:
• Mood check-in history
• Journal entries
• Daily activity completions
The Application stores one item in the cloud: a wellness score. This score is a numerical value (0–100) derived from your recent mood check-ins. It is stored anonymously on our secure cloud infrastructure and is used for a single purpose: to match you with a peer supporter from within your chosen community group when you log a low mood. The wellness score is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information, and is never used for advertising or analytics.
When you participate in community groups, the text content of posts and messages you submit is processed by OpenAI's API for automated safety moderation before being published or delivered. See "AI Content Moderation & OpenAI" below for full details.
Anonymous Peer Support & Wellness Score
When you join a community group and opt in to peer support, the Application uses your wellness score to determine whether you are in a position to offer support to another member who is feeling low, or to identify a suitable supporter for you. All communication facilitated through this feature is fully anonymous — neither party sees the other's identity. Messages are reviewed by automated moderation before delivery and are stored only in the recipient's private inbox.
You may opt out of the peer-support matching feature at any time by leaving your community groups or toggling off the supporter setting within the app. You can also delete your wellness score and all associated cloud data at any time via Settings → Privacy & Data → Clear All Data.
Does the Application collect precise real-time location information of the device?
This Application does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device.
AI Content Moderation & OpenAI
When you submit a post or message in a community group, the text of that submission is sent to OpenAI's API (openai.com) for automated safety and topic-relevance review before it is published or delivered. This review is performed solely to enforce the Community Guidelines and protect all members.
What is shared with OpenAI: the text content of your post or message only.
What is not shared: your name, email address, user ID, account information, mood history, journal entries, or wellness score are never included in moderation requests.
OpenAI processes this data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy. By agreeing to the Community Guidelines within the app, you consent to this moderation step. If you do not wish your content to be reviewed by OpenAI, do not post or send messages in community groups.
Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?
Your wellness score is stored on our secure cloud infrastructure (Google Firebase), which acts solely as a storage provider. Your mood history and journal entries are never uploaded, and the wellness score is not linked to any identity.
The only data shared with a third party is the text content of community posts and messages, which is sent to OpenAI's API for safety moderation as described above. No data is shared with third parties for advertising, analytics, or commercial purposes.
What are my opt-out rights?
You can remove all locally stored data and your cloud wellness score at any time via Settings → Privacy & Data → Clear All Data inside the Application. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data via Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete Account. You may also stop all data collection by uninstalling the Application using the standard uninstall processes available on your mobile device or via the application marketplace.
Children
The Application is not used to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.
The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. The Service Provider encourages all children to never submit any personally identifiable information through the Application and/or Services. The Service Provider encourages parents and legal guardians to monitor their children's Internet usage and to help enforce this Policy by instructing their children never to provide personally identifiable information through the Application and/or Services without their permission. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personally identifiable information to the Service Provider through the Application and/or Services, please contact the Service Provider (mindfulm3jnl@gmail.com) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions. You must also be at least 16 years of age to consent to the processing of your personally identifiable information in your country (in some countries we may allow your parent or guardian to do so on your behalf).
Security
The Service Provider is committed to safeguarding your information. Locally stored data is protected by your device's own security model. The wellness score is protected by strict server-side access controls that ensure only your account can read or modify your own score. No other user can access your wellness score directly.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to their Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
Your Consent
By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by the Service Provider.
No Tolerance for Objectionable Content
MindfulMe maintains a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behavior within its community features. Content that is hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful to members of the community is strictly prohibited. All community messages and posts must also remain relevant to their group topic — off-topic content is not permitted.
All community messages and posts are reviewed by automated moderation before delivery or publication. Users may report any content directly within the app. Reported content is removed immediately upon report, reviewed within 24 hours, and — if found in violation — the responsible account is permanently suspended with no exceptions.
To report abuse or a content violation directly, email us at mindfulm3jnl@gmail.com.
